Case Checker Quality Officer
Location: Remote Working
Remuneration: £30,227
Contract: Initial 1 year contract, full-time (36 hpw)
Citizens Advice Haringey is looking for a motivated individual to join our quality team and provide support to the organisation to ensure high quality standards across our advice services. The role is a fully remote role from anywhere in the UK.
The Case Checker will quality check case records of staff and volunteer advisers using Citizens Advice best practice guidelines, providing feedback in a positive and sensitive manner.
The successful applicant will have excellent attention to detail and be able to quickly adapt to changing quality of advice practices. You will need to have the ability to work on your own initiative as well as excellent IT skills and strong communication skills. For this role it is essential to have Citizens Advice experience (either providing, supervising, case checking or quality assessing advice).

Trustees
We currently have a small but highly skilled team of trustees from a wide range of backgrounds. Our Chair, Lorna Reith oversees the Trustees and supervises the CEO. Citizens Advice Haringey is seeking to recruit new Trustees to its Board.
We are seeking people with knowledge, skills and experience in any one or more of the following areas: advice and legal services, income generation in the charity sector, knowledge of Haringey, HR, finance, marketing and communication and measuring impact.
The Trustees of Citizens Advice Haringey share responsibility for the charity’s performance in meeting its Objects as set out in its Articles of Association. The Trustees must also ensure that the organisation’s actions conform to the legal and governance framework of the relevant Companies Act and to the Charity Commission.
The Trustees form the Board of Directors of Haringey Citizens Advice Bureaux, (the registered company name of Citizens Advice Haringey). The Board appoints all Trustees. The terms of office are three years with the opportunity to serve for one further term of three years.
The Trustees hold a minimum of four Board meetings each year and in addition one ‘away day’. There are three subcommittees which support the Board in the management and governance of the charity. These meet four times a year and trustees are expected to sit on one of these Standing Committees. They are:
• Finance
• Quality HR and Health and safety
• Campaigns and research.
As a Trustee of Citizens Advice Haringey, you will be central to helping to make decisions about how we ensure our work responds to the needs of the local communities, makes the best use of the resources we have available, and ensure our services are always of the highest quality. You will be working with a team of experienced Trustees alongside our Chief Executive, managers, staff and volunteers. You will have the opportunity to develop your skills in governance and leadership, engage with staff and volunteers and be involved in influencing change at a strategic level, and make a real difference to the lives of people across Haringey. You will on occasion act as an ambassador for the organisation and attend appropriate meetings and events with funders, local councillors and MPs and organisations across the public, private and voluntary sector.
We are looking for people who offer some of the following:
• Empathy and commitment to the mission and objectives of Citizens Advice Haringey
• Willingness to put time and effort into the role of Trustee
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience in senior management roles
• Knowledge or understanding of the legal and advice sector
• Understanding and acceptance of legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of trusteeship
• Experience of strategic development and planning
• Experience of fundraising and income generation in the third sector
• Senior HR / employment law expertise
• Charity finance and SORP
• Experience of audit and risk management
• Understanding of how to market and raise the profile of third sector organisations
• A knowledge of financial management in the charity sector
