Welfare Changes
Support for Haringey Residents in Light of Upcoming Welfare Changes
Following the recent passage of the Welfare Reform Bill, we understand that many residents across Haringey particularly D/deaf and disabled people and those living with long-term health conditions may be feeling concerned about what this means for their current or future entitlements.
Haringey Council, Disability Action Haringey, Citizens Advice Haringey, and Mind in Haringey want to reassure our community that we are here to support you. While some elements of the Bill are still subject to further review, including changes to Personal Independence Payment (PIP), we recognise the uncertainty this creates and the anxiety it may cause.
We are encouraging all residents who think they may be eligible for PIP or other related benefits to seek advice and support now before any changes to legislation come into effect. Our services can help you understand your rights, assist with making a claim, and support you through any appeals process.
Our shared priority remains ensuring that Haringey residents are informed, supported, and treated with dignity throughout any changes to the welfare system. We will continue to work closely with community partners to ensure that no one is left behind.
Please don’t wait if you need support, reach out we are here to help.
